Yesterday Izzy and I worked on opposites again but this time we focused on ‘heavy’ and ‘light’. Last week when we were working with playdough, Izzy tried to pick up our whole playdough slab at one point but couldnt and called it heavy so I knew he was ready for this topic. Just like when we discussed soft and hard, I gathered a bunch of different items together and had him sort them out based on wether they were heavy or light. He asked to do this activity twice and did a pretty good job both times.

Sydney has now contracted the dreaded hand, foot, and mouth disease so her activity was kept simple. I got out a pot I use to make spaghetti, turned it upside down, and gave her a few different kitchen utensils to form a makeshift drum set. She thought it was fun to bang on that pot and got quite into it! Izzy also enjoyed it when he woke up, but he used the setup for pretend play and kept informing me that he was making dinner 🙂
